Prevention of Angioedema

Avoid substances and situations that have triggered allergic attacks in the past. To help identify these triggers, it might be helpful to keep a diary of foods that you think might be causing the reactions.

If you’ve previously had a serious reaction that has caused breathing difficulties or other serious effects such as dizziness or unconciousness, your doctor should provide you with a sealed syringe containing adrenaline. This enables you to inject yourself or to be given an injection as soon as possible, in an emergency situation.
