Prevention of Aphasia

It is sensible to keep to a healthy lifestyle in order to try to prevent the event of a stroke, especially if you have high blood pressure or a history of heart disease. Regular visits to your GP will help you keep a check on your overall health.

Remember to eat a healthy balanced diet, take regular exercise (thirty minutes, five times a week is ideal) and do not drink excessively or smoke. For further information on staying healthy, see separate topics on Healthy eating and Exercise.
