Prevention of Aspergillosis

Prevention is limited to avoiding exposure to the fungus.

People with asthma, a suppressed immune system, or a history of lung disease should avoid places where the aspergillus fungus is likely to be including marshland and bogs, forests, compost heaps, grain stores, any rotting vegetation, piles of dead leaves, and soils.

The harmful effects of the fungus in buildings can be reduced by adequate ventilation and dust control particularly during construction or renovation, infection control measures (such as disinfection, temperature and humidity control, adequate air flow), monitoring and early diagnosis.
