What is it used for? of Barium enema

A barium enema is used to detect abnormal findings in the large intestine. These may include cancer, non- cancerous growths (polyps), diverticulitis (small pouches formed on the colon wall that can become inflamed), and inflammation of the inner lining of the intestine (ulcerative colitis), ulcers and narrowed areas.
