Symptoms of Bronchiectasis
The main symptoms are a persistent cough, with lots of green/yellow phlegm, which is sometimes bloodstained.
Breathing is difficult, and sounds wheezy. It is difficult to get about without becoming short of breath.
Bronchiectasis usually becomes worse over time. The build-up of mucus increases causing severe coughing, which is necessary to clear the lungs in the morning, late afternoon and before going to bed at night. Bad breath may also become a problem.
Some people with bronchiectasis also have pus-producing infection of the nasal sinuses.
