Diagnosis of Bronchiolitis

If bronchiolitis is suspected from the physical symptoms, your GP will probably take a sample from the child’s nose, which will be sent for analysis to look for viruses and bacteria. A stethoscope may also be used to listen to the child’s chest, for signs of breathing difficulty.  A chest x-ray may also be done.
