Cancer of the colon, rectum or bowel
Colorectal cancer (cancer of the bowel) is the third most common cancer in men, and the second most common cancer in women in the UK.
The bowel forms part of our digestive system. It is divided into two parts, the small bowel and the large bowel. The large bowel is made up of the colon and rectum. Bowel cancer can occur anywhere in the colon or rectum (back passage).
