Symptoms of Cancer of the liver

Hepatomas are often difficult to diagnose in the early stages as symptoms may not appear until the cancer is fairly advanced.

Signs include pain in the upper right abdomen, swellings or an unusual mass, loss of appetite, loss of weight, nausea and lethargy.Where the person already has cirrhosis of the liver, they may also have a fever and shiver.

If no symptoms are experienced until the cancer has progressed substantially, the first sign may be severe abdominal pain because of a rupture or bleeding of the growth.
