Prevention of Cancer of the prostate

Screening for prostate cancer, using a blood test for PSA, is controversial and there is no formal programme in the UK. If a man without any symptoms wants a PSA blood test, it should be discussed with his GP. There is no convincing evidence to show that screening improves survival rates because of the number of false positive results.
