Prevention of Cancer of the stomach

To help prevent stomach cancer you should drink alcohol in moderation, and dilute any strong alcoholic drinks. You should also reduce your intake of things that irritate the stomach, such as caffeine and salt, and give up smoking. Your diet should be rich in fresh fruit and vegetables.

A blood test, which can be arranged through your GP, can help detect the presence of Helicobacter pylori. Helicobactor pylori can be successfully treated with antibiotics.
