Complications of Cataracts
Occasionally during surgery, a part of the eye called the capsule can tear and parts of the cataract may fall into the back of the eye. If this happens, you may need a second operation to take out the rest of the cataract. Sometimes the back of the capsule becomes cloudy months or even years after cataract surgery. This can be treated by laser surgery to remove the cloudy layer.
