Prevention of Cellulitis

It is best to wash any cuts, grazes, insect bites or spots under running tap water and cover with a plaster or dressing if possible. This will reduce the risk of scratching, which can lead to infection.

Ask your children to cover their arms and legs while playing outside and make sure that they wear the correct protective clothing when they are doing sports to help prevent any unnecessary damage to the skin.

Keep your fingernails short and clean at all times.
