Prevention of Glue ear
Because the cause of glue ear is not clear, it is not easy to take measures to prevent it. However, breastfeeding and making sure your child is not exposed to tobacco smoke, will both reduce the risk of developing glue ear.
If you have any concerns about your child’s hearing, or if your child is complaining of earache, visit your GP. Never attempt to insert drops as this could cause further damage.
