Complications of Heatstroke

Complications include:

  • Hypoglycaemia (drop in sugar levels),
  • Dehydration (drop in fluid and salt levels),
  • Organ failure (kidney, liver or heart), and
  • Brain damage.

Heatstroke can be fatal if left untreated.  It is therefore important to get medical attention as soon as possible.
