Symptoms of Knock knee
Knock knee can be seen when the child stands up straight with their knees together. Their lower legs will spread out so that the ankles are much further apart than normal. The ankles can be up to 10 cm apart at the age of four, without cause for concern.
Adults can also suffer from knock knee. In a few cases, the knock knee is severe and the poor posture may start to affect the hips, back or feet. This could lead to problems walking and arthritis of the knee joint in later life.
