Treatment of Molluscum contagiosum
As the condition usually disappears without treatment, children are best left untreated. Some treatments for molluscum contagiosum can be uncomfortable and may leave small scars.
Adults may prefer to have the spots removed for cosmetic reasons. Your GP will either pierce the spots will forceps or scrape away a thin layer of skin underneath the spots.
