Treatment of Neuralgia
Painkillers are the main form of treatment. Certain drugs, such as carbamazepine, can interfere with the passage of nerve impulses along sensory nerves, and these can be useful in the management of neuralgia.
In extreme cases, nerves may be cut surgically to relieve the pain.
