PET scan
Positron Emission Tomography, or PET scanning, is a way of making images of the body by studying how certain areas function and convert energy.
PET scans are different from those obtained by more routine imaging methods (such as X-ray, ultrasound or MRI scanning) as they show how the body is actually working, not just what it looks like.
