When should it be done? of PET scan

PET is a complementary test that can provide information that may not be evident from  other scanning methods.  It is most effective when used with other methods of diagnosis.

Some people may not be suitable for a PET scan if they have chemical imbalances in the body.  For example, a scan of a diabetic patient may give false results if their blood sugar or insulin levels are not within a normal range.
