Preconception
The chances of achieving pregnancy are affected by a couple’s general state of health. Optimising health and fitness levels in preparation for pregnancy is seen as increasingly important. Previously, a healthy baby only depended on receiving regular antenatal care from approximately twelve weeks of pregnancy. However, at this stage the baby is fully formed and growing. It is now seen as important that couples ensure that they are as healthy as possible before trying to conceive.
