Raynaud's phenomenon

Raynaud's phenomenon is a disorder affecting the small arteries supplying fingers and toes. Exposure to cold causes them to go into spasm so that blood flow is restricted. There are various known causes.

The phenomenon commonly occurs, however, when no cause can be found. In such cases it is known as Raynaud's disease.
