How is it performed? of Rectal examination

Rectal examination is only mildly uncomfortable and need not cause distress. The patient lies on one side and the doctor uses disposable plastic gloves and a lubricant such as a water-based jelly. There is a slight sensation as if the bowels are moving. Doctors perform thousands of rectal examinations and are not in the least embarrassed. Obviously this can be different for the patient, but talking the procedure through first can help.
