Treatment of Reiter's syndrome

If the initial chlamydial infection is detected, it is treated with antibiotics.

Conjunctivitis needs no treatment itself. However, if iritis develops, steroids are used to calm the eye inflammation and prevent scarring damage in the eye.

Arthritis and other tissue inflammation is treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and/or painkillers.
