Symptoms of Rickets

A lower than normal amount of calcium and phosphate are deposited in the bones, which weaken and become softer. The result may be bowing of the legs, a pigeon-breast deformity, curvature of the spine, an increased tendency for bones to break easily, and a squaring off and flattening of the skull.

Teeth take longer to appear and the enamel on them is softer.
