Treatment of Slapped cheek syndrome
Parvovirus is usually a mild illness, which passes quickly without the need for treatment within two weeks or so. Short- term use of paracetamol or ibuprofen will relieve headache, fever and other flu- like symptoms.
Adults with joint pain and swelling may need to rest and take anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen to relieve symptoms. Joint pain and swelling in adults usually resolve without long-term disability.
