Sore throat

Sore throat, known medically as pharyngitis, is a common condition.  It can be caused by viruses or bacteria, but viruses are by far the most common cause.

It is often a symptom of various illnesses such as colds and flu, glandular fever, respiratory tract infections, tonsillitis, quinsy, chickenpox, measles and mumps.
