Treatment of Stroke

After a stroke, the emphasis is on getting the person back to as normal a life as possible (rehabilitation). A person who consistently attempts to walk after a minor stroke is much more likely to recover mobility than one who stays in bed.

Stroke Units (hospital units dedicated to stroke care and rehabilitation) have been shown to improve recovery significantly, as have rehabilitation assistance in the community.
