Cancer of the thyroid سرطان الغده الدرقيه

Thyroid cancers are fairly rare types of cancer, accounting for 1 in 100 of all cancers, with approx. سرطان الغده الدرقيه هي نادرة الى حد ما من انواع السرطان ، وهو ما يمثل 1 في 100 من جميع انواع السرطان ، مع تقريبا. 1,100 new cases in the UK each year. 1.100 حالة جديدة في المملكه المتحدة كل عام. They usually grow slowly. وعادة ما تنمو ببطء.

The thyroid gland is situated at the base of the throat. الغده الدرقيه وتقع فى قاعدة الحنجره. It absorbs iodine from the diet and produces thyroid hormones, which keep the body functioning normally. انه يمتص اليود من الطعام وتنتج هرمونات الغده الدرقيه ، والتي تبقى الجسم تعمل بشكل طبيعي.

There are three main types of cancer of the thyroid: وهناك ثلاثة أنواع رئيسية من سرطان الغده الدرقيه :

• Papillary: the most common type, more common in younger people, predominantly women. حليمي : اكثر الانواع شيوعا ، وأكثر شيوعا في الشباب ، معظمهم من النساء.
• Follicular: less common found particularly in older people. مسامي : وجدت اقل شيوعا وخاصة في كبار السن.
• Medullary: a rare type which is sometimes, but not always, hereditary. Medullary : نوع نادر وهو في بعض الاحيان ، لكن ليس دائما ، وراثيه.

The outlook for most types of thyroid cancer is generally very good and many people are completely cured of the disease, even if it has spread beyond the thyroid. التوقعات بالنسبة لمعظم انواع سرطان الغده الدرقيه بصفة عامة جيدة جدا وكثير من الناس شفي تماما من المرض ، حتي اذا كان قد ينتشر خارج الغده الدرقيه.
