The liver performs many functions to keep us healthy. الكبد يؤدي العديد من الوظائف في ابقائنا في صحه جيدة.

These functions include: وتشمل هذه الوظائف :

• controlling levels of fats in the blood, التحكم في مستويات الدهون في الدم ،
• storing vitamins and minerals, تخزين والفيتامينات والمعادن ،
• breaking down food and turning it into energy, كسر الاغذيه وتحويلها الى طاقة ،
• and dealing with and breaking down alcohol. والتعامل مع وكسر الكحول. It is one of the largest and most complex organs in the body. وهي واحدة من اكبر وأعقد الاجهزه في الجسم.

A healthy liver can repair itself from infection and from the effect of alcohol or drugs. صحيه في الكبد يمكن اصلاح نفسها من العدوى ومن تاثير الكحول او المخدرات. However, liver cells can be gradually destroyed if too much strain is placed on it. ومع ذلك ، يمكن أن تكون خلايا الكبد تدريجيا اذا دمرت الكثير من الاجهاد هي القيت على عاتقها. This can cause chronic (long-term) liver disease such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer and alcohol-related illnesses. هذا يمكن ان يسبب المزمنه (طويلة الاجل) مثل امراض الكبد والتهاب الكبد والتليف الكبدي ، سرطان الكبد والكحول والامراض المتصله.

There are treatments available for the symptoms of liver disease. وهناك العلاج المتاحة للاعراض مرض الكبد. A transplant will only be considered if these treatments are no longer helpful, or if liver disease is at an advanced or irreversible stage and your life is at risk. الزرع لن ينظر الا اذا كانت هذه العلاجات لم تعد مفيدة ، او اذا كان المرض هو الكبد متقدمة او في مرحلة لا رجعة فيها وحياتك معرضة للخطر.

Liver transplants will be considered for patients with the following conditions: عمليات زرع الكبد وسوف ينظر للمرضى الذين يعانون من الشروط التالية :

• Acute (short-term) liver disease where the patient has liver failure, including viral hepatitis. الحادة (قصيرة الأجل) امراض الكبد حيث ان المريض قد فشل في الكبد ، بما فيها التهاب الكبد الفيروسي.
• Chronic (long-term) liver disease such as alcoholic liver disease, biliary cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis, some metabolic disorders (wilson’s disease) and sclerosing cholangitis. المزمنه (طويلة الاجل) والكبد والامراض مثل امراض الكبد الكحوليه ، biliary التليف الكبدي ، التهاب الكبد المزمن ، التهاب الكبد الذاتية ، وبعض الاضطرابات الايضيه (wilsonâ € ™ ق المرض) وsclerosing cholangitis.

The reasons why a certain patient may need a transplant vary and the timing of the procedure is often difficult due to the patient’s condition and because there is a shortage of donors. الأسباب التي تجعل بعض المرضى قد تحتاج الى زرع تختلف ، وتوقيت هذا الاجراء غالبا ما تكون صعبة نظرا لpatientâ € ™ ق شرط ، ولان هناك نقص في الجهات المانحه.

Reasons for not doing a transplant may be if the patient is not mentally and emotionally committed to having surgery or if other diseases are present in the body. اسباب عدم القيام الزرع قد يكون اذا كان المريض عقليا وليس عاطفيا ملتزمة اذا أجريت له جراحة او غيرها من الامراض الموجودة في الجسم. For example, cancer of another organ, cancer in the liver, severe infection (sepsis), and HIV infection. فعلى سبيل المثال ، جهاز اخر من السرطان ، وسرطان في الكبد ، حالات العدوى الشديدة (تسمم) ، والاصابة بفيروس نقص المناعه البشريه.

A detailed assessment is used to see if a liver transplant is an appropriate treatment and that all other medical treatments have been considered. اجراء تقييم مفصل وتستخدم لمعرفة ما اذا كان احد هو زرع الكبد العلاج المناسب وان جميع العلاجات الطبية الاخرى وقد تم النظر فيها. The assessment will involve various tests such as: وسوف تنطوي على تقييم مختلف التجارب مثل :

• blood tests, اختبارات الدم ،
• to test how your liver is functioning and for any viruses or bacterial infections, كيف يمكن لاختبار اداء الكبد هو وعن اي فيروسات او الانتانات الجرثوميه ،
• a liver biopsy, where a small amount of liver tissue is removed to be examined, أ خزعه الكبد ، حيث كمية صغيرة من انسجه الكبد هو ازالة يتعين بحثها ،
• chest X-rays, الصدر بالاشعه السينيه ،
• a dental examination (it is important that your gums and teeth are healthy), أ فحص الاسنان (ومن المهم ان حسابك اللثه والاسنان الصحية) ،
• breathing tests, to check how well your lungs are working, اختبارات التنفس ، للتحقق من مدى حسن الخاص بك وتعمل الرئتين ،
• and an endoscopy, which is an abdominal ultrasound scan that can look at the blood-flow through your liver. وendoscopy ، وهو المسح الضوئي للبطن بالموجات فوق الصوتيه يمكن ان ننظر في تدفق الدم عبر حسابك في الكبد.

During the assessment you will also be told about the risks and benefits of a liver transplant and have the chance to ask questions. وخلال تقييم يمكنك ايضا ان يقال عن المخاطر والمنافع من زرع الكبد ، وتتاح لهم الفرصة لتوجيه اسءله.

The assessment will involve a stay in hospital and if it is decided that a transplant is necessary, you will be placed on the waiting list for a suitable donor. وسيقوم هذا التقييم ينطوي على البقاء في المستشفى واذا ما تقرر ان من الضروري زرع ، اللغة الانجليزيه ، ويتم على قائمة الانتظار لمناسبة المانحه.

The wait for a suitable donor could be anything from hours to months, even years. ان مدة الانتظار لمناسبة المانحه يمكن ان يكون اي شيء من ساعة الى شهور ، بل سنوات. A suitable liver will be matched to you by the blood group, height, weight and body size of the donor . مناسبة الكبد وسوف يقابل اليكم من فصيلة الدم ، والطول والوزن وحجم الجسم من الجهات المانحه. When a suitable donor is found, you should be ready to get to the hospital in a matter of hours so the transplant can take place soon after the new liver is removed from the donor’s body. عندما المانحه هو مناسب وجدت ، يجب ان تكون على استعداد للذهاب الى المستشفى في غضون ساعات حتى الزرع يمكن ان تجرى في وقت قريب بعد جديد هو إزالة الكبد من donorâ € ™ ق الهيءه. Donated organs can be kept for around 20 hours after they have been removed from the donor. تبرع اجهزة يمكن ان تظل لمدة 20 ساعة بعد ان تكون قد ازيلت من الجهات المانحه.
