Osteomyelitis

Osteomyelitis is an acute (develops suddenly) or chronic (long term) infection of the bone and bone marrow(the soft substance in the bone cavity where the blood cells are produced). Osteomyelitis هو حاده (يطور فجاه) او المزمن (طويل الاجل) العدوى من العظام ونخاع العظم (مادة لينة في تجويف العظام حيث يتم انتاج خلايا الدم). Bone infection can be caused by bacteria, or more rarely by fungus. العظام يمكن ان تكون الاصابة التي تسببها البكتيريا ، ونادرا ما او اكثر من قبل الفطر. It is usually caused by the bacteria staphylococcus. ومن عادة ما تسببها البكتريا Staphylococcus.

Osteomyelitis can occur at any age. Osteomyelitis يمكن ان تحدث في اي عمر.

Osteomyelitis can happen as a result of an infection in another part of the body. Osteomyelitis يمكن ان يحدث نتيجة لاصابة في جزء اخر من الجسم. The infection may spread to the bone in the bloodstream. الانتان قد ينتشر الى العظم في مجرى الدم. This is often the cause of osteomyelitis in children. وهذا كثيرا ما يكون سببا في osteomyelitis الاطفال.

The long bones in the legs are those that are normally affected (the femur, tibia and fibula) in children . العظام الطويلة في الساقين هي تلك التي تتاثر عادة (عظم الفخذ ، وعظم الشظيه وعظم القصبة) في الاطفال. In adults, the vertebrae and the pelvis may be affected. في البالغين ، فقرات والحوض يمكن ان تتأثر.

Osteomyelitis can also occur following an injury; bacteria can spread to the bone through a deep cut in the skin, if infected. Osteomyelitis يمكن ان تحدث ايضا اثر اصابة ؛ البكتيريا يمكن ان تنتشر الى العظام عن طريق قطع عميق في الجلد ، فى حالة اصابتهم.

If you have diabetes, osteomyelitis may occur in the spine and in bones of the feet. اذا كنت مصابا بداء السكري ، وosteomyelitis قد تحدث فى العمود الفقرى وعظام في القدمين.

When the bone is infected, pus is produced within the bone. عندما العظام مصاب القيح تنتج داخل العظام. If left untreated, the infection can develop into an abscess. واذا ترك بدون علاج ، فان العدوى يمكن ان تتطور الى خراج. The abscess then deprives the bone of its blood supply and the infected bone may be difficult to treat. فان الخراج ثم يحرم العظام من امدادات الدم والعظام المصابين قد يكون من الصعب علاج.
