The operation is done under general anaesthetic, after the stomach is emptied by means of a nasogastric tube. Die Operation erfolgt unter Vollnarkose, nach der Magen entleert wird durch eine Nasensonde.
Surgery is performed through a vertical incision in the upper abdomen, in or just to the left of the midline. Chirurgie wird durch einen vertikalen Schnitt in der oberen Bauch, oder einfach auf der linken Seite der Mittellinie.
