Perforated eardrum Tympan perforé

A perforated eardrum is one with a hole in it. Un tympan perforé est un avec un trou dedans. Most perforations occur following infection (otitis media) and heal quickly. La plupart des perforations se produire suite à l'infection (otite moyenne) et de guérir rapidement.

Non-infective perforations often heal quickly without further attention. Non-infectieux perforations souvent guérir rapidement sans une plus grande attention. However, if the middle ear becomes infected, and especially if there is loss of normal middle-ear drainage by the eustachian tube connecting the middle ear to the throat, the perforation tends to persist and requires treatment. Toutefois, si l'oreille moyenne est infectée, et surtout si il est la perte normale de l'oreille moyenne de drainage par la trompe d'Eustache reliant l'oreille moyenne à la gorge, la perforation tend à persister et ont besoin de traitement.
