Urinary tract infection Infezione del tratto urinario
The urinary tract is the name given to the group of internal organs that collect, store and remove urine from the body. Il tratto urinario è il nome dato al gruppo degli organi interni che raccogliere, conservare e rimuovere le urine dal corpo.
The most common part of the urinary tract to get infection is the bladder. I più comuni parte del tratto urinario per ottenere l'infezione è la vescica. Infection here is called cystitis (see separate article). Infezione qui si chiama cistite (cfr. articolo separato). Cystitis is more common in women than men. It is thought that this is because the tube leading from the bladder to the outside (known as the urethra) is shorter in women than in men. Cistite è più comune nelle donne rispetto agli uomini. Cystitis in men is often associated with infection and inflammation of the prostate gland (prostatitis). Cistite negli uomini è spesso associata ad infezione e infiammazione della prostata (prostatite). A urinary infection that involves the urine collecting system of the kidney is called pyelitis. Una infezione urinaria che coinvolge il sistema di raccolta delle urine del rene è chiamato pyelitis. It has usually spread up the tubes that run from the kidneys to the bladder (the ureters). When the infection also involves the substance of the kidney, it is called pyelonephritis (see article on Pyelonephritis). Quando l'infezione coinvolge anche la sostanza del rene, esso è chiamato pyelonephritis (vedi articolo a Pyelonephritis).
